HOW TO STORE & HANDLE MY STONE

At Source for Stone, we prioritize the safe storage and handling of our stone veneer products to ensure they are in excellent condition and ready for installation. We take every precaution to prevent damage during shipping and transit, and we are committed to doing everything in our power to minimize such incidents and ensure the stone veneer panels arrive intact.

To maintain the quality and integrity of our stone veneer on the consumers end while transporting to the final installation site, or even for temporary storage, we recommend following these steps:

  • STEP 1: VERTICAL ORIENTATION

It is essential to transport and store the cartons in a vertical orientation. Avoid storing or shipping them on their sides, as this can increase the risk of damage.

  • STEP 2: STACKED TIGHTLY

When transporting cartons in a vehicle, stack them tightly together to prevent rocking or shifting, which could lead to damage to the panels. A secure stack will help maintain stability.

  • STEP 3: SECURELY WRAPPED

When transporting cartons in a vehicle, ensure the cartons are securely wrapped and fastened. This additional measure helps minimize any potential damage that may occur during transit.

  • STEP 4: TOP OF CARTONS FREE OF OBJECTS

Avoid stacking heavy materials or other objects on top of the cartons, as this can exert pressure and cause damage to the panels inside.

  • STEP 5: KEEP CARTONS DRY

Moisture is detrimental to cardboard cartons, as it can lead to deterioration and damage to the stone veneer panels. Always protect the cartons from exposure to moisture.

  • STEP 6: POLY COVERED WHEN STORED OUTSIDE

While it is highly recommended to store the cartons indoors, if storing them outside becomes necessary, cover them with a poly covering. If the outdoor storage is for an extended period, consider using a thicker material like a tarp to provide extra protection against the elements.

  • HANDLE WITH CARE

Treat the cartons and stone veneer panels with care. Avoid dropping or rough handling, as this can increase the chances of breakage and damage to the stone. Even if a carton contains a broken panel or two, remember that these panels can still be used in areas requiring smaller stone pieces.

By following these steps, you can help ensure the safe storage and handling of our stone veneer products. At Source for Stone, we are dedicated to delivering high-quality products, and we appreciate your cooperation in maintaining the integrity of our stone veneer throughout the process.
